Using ALISS Data

ALISS has been created using the principles of open source software.

Use the API

The ALISS team believes the data in ALISS should be openly available and shared. To achieve this, we offer an open API (Application Programming Interface) this link will take you away from ALISS. Meaning, as well as accessing information through www.aliss.org, the service information and data on ALISS can be used in other websites and systems, e.g. to create your own online directory of assets. This allows us to work with many different systems and partners.

Customisable Maps

We have also developed our own customisable maps, this link will take you away from ALISS. This is a digital tool within the ALISS platform that allows organisations to create tailored, interactive maps that showcase specific resources or services based on criteria in an area they choose. These maps can then be embedded on websites to make them easily accessible to anyone who may benefit.

Javascript Plugin

Another method of presenting ALISS information is using our JavaScript plugin, this link will take you away from ALISS.  This can be easily embedded on third party websites, without the need for much specialist technical knowledge.

GitHub

Additionally, the code for the ALISS system is available on GitHub, this link will take you away from ALISS, which enables developers to build on the technical work of the programme to date.  The code can be reused, subject to a Creative Commons licence this link will take you away from ALISS
